About

I am a Ph.D. candidate from the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, at Penn State University. With nearly 10 years of battery-related energy storage research experience, I am very enthusiastic about clean energy development and the application of engineering analytics. As a graduate assistant, I delivered lectures and lab instructions for several undergraduate courses, e.g. IE 311, IE 312, etc..
Research Expertise and Current Interests
Electrode materials, Solid-state electrolyte, Structural battery, Composite design, Low-temperature sintering process, and Advanced manufacturing.
Together with data-driven analysis and optimization algorithms, promoting the development of Lithium-ion batteries and beyond.

  • Dec. 2023. Completed a comprehensive Python course 100 Days of Code: The Complete Python Pro Bootcamp for 2023 on Udemy. Gained more fundamental understanding of Python and HTML.
  • Nov. 2023. Attended the 2023 Fall MRS Conference in Boston MA. Presented two of my research works and two poster projects.
  • Feb. 2022. Placed the 3rd in Area 22 International Speech Contest 2022, Toastmasters International in State College PA.
  • Mar. 2020. Manufacturing Pennsylvania Innovation Program recognized Bo Nie as a practitioner of innovative manufacturing.
